Job Summary
Reporting to the Provincial Director of Strategic HR Business Partnerships, the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner provides consultative expertise regarding human resources strategies and objectives for the organization. The Strategic Human Resources Business Partner ensures alignment of business objectives, work cultures, and human resources programs/ policies to facilitate the organization with achieving its business goals.
The Strategic Human Resources Business Partner works with COOs/V.Ps and their leadership teams to understand their business challenges and leverage HR expertise to design solutions and enhance organizational performance and employee experience. The position acts as a strategic liaison between HR and core business operations and monitors key human resources performance metrics to support the organization in data driven decision making.
Job Qualifications
Education
Undergraduate Commerce/Business Degree with specialization in human resource management.
Master's degree in the area of Health Administration or Business Administration would be an asset.
Membership/Certification with Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) would be an asset.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in developing, managing and delivering human resources services in programs to a wide variety of stakeholders in a highly-unionized environment.
Considerable experience in working with complex processes and systems that guide the delivery of various human resources services as well as standards, laws and regulations that govern them.
Experience with people management, change management, team development, coaching and Human Resource planning.
Experience with the use of metrics to measure quality processes and to provide fact based decision making.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Solid understanding of NLHS's organizational human resource priorities and its talent acquisition and labour relations practices, processes, Collective Agreements and applicable legislation within a heavily unionized environment
Knowledge of research methodology, strategy development and implementation.
Exceptional business writer in preparing briefing notes and proposals
Highly developed negotiation, time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to function in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment and manage tight timelines and meet deadlines.
Proven leadership abilities, excellent communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
