Who we are
The Attorney General is the law officer of the Executive Council and is responsible to see that the administration of public affairs is in accordance with the law and to ensure protection of the public interest. The Legal Services Branch provides civil legal advice and representation to all provincial government departments and related agencies.

The Department of Justice and Public Safety is seeking an individual to join the Legal Services Branch as a Records and Information Manager.

What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing assistance to the lawyers in the five Practice Groups of Legal Services;
  • Overseeing all aspects of records management for Legal Services;
  • Researching and managing information at the request of Legal Services employees;
  • Designing and producing statistical reports;
  • Overseeing the process of closing files for each Practice Group;
  • Preparing traditional physical information for the storage and archiving process;
  • Identifying and investigating deficiencies in software and recommending enhancements to the system;
  • Developing, executing and documenting test plans to ensure quality of software;
  • Consulting and participating in the rollout of software and subsequent service packs;
  • Developing and providing training for Legal Services employees relating to records and information management issues; and
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Successful completion of one (1) year related post-secondary education;
  • Minimum of six (6) years related work experience;
  • At least one (1) year of administrative experience in a legal environment; and
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to Have (their asset qualifications)

  • Experience working with the Content Server Open Text Records Management System;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Wage
$2,043- $2,481 Biweekly (ASL5) based on education and experience

Work environment

  • Office location: Chancery Place, 675 King Street, Fredericton
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 - 4:30
