Position Type: Term from January 2026 to August 2026 (Full time - 8-month Term)
Location: Saint John
Salary Range: $33.85 to $47.70 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $52.08 per hour, based on their level of post-secondary education.
You will be collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair- Allied Health, School of Health and Wellness, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional area includes:
- Being a nurse mentor who will provide clinical supervision and guidance to Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) completing 600 hours of employer-led clinical practice in long-term care facilities, as approved by NANB.
- Overseeing cohorts of approximately 6-8 students, ensuring adherence to NANB's assessment rubric and supporting students in meeting competency requirements.
- Coordinating clinical and student schedule with partner nursing home, managing schedules, monitoring progress, and evaluating performance.
- On-site supervision and limited off-site preparation, with initial weeks dedicated to establishing logistics with facilities and students.
- Assisting in the clinical preparation of candidates who will be writing the NCLEX national exam and who will be applying for registration in New Brunswick.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Nursing with recent and related years of experience.
- Candidates must be currently registered and in good standing with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick or be eligible for registration.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in acute care nursing.
- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
- Physical able to facilitate clinicals in client centered environments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
