Team Lead, Employee Wellbeing and Disability Management

The Team Lead, Employee Wellbeing and Disability Management, is responsible for guiding a team in designing and executing workplace wellbeing initiatives while managing disability programs. This role ensures employees receive the support they need for their physical, mental, and emotional health while fostering a culture of inclusivity and care.
Key functions include:
Team Leadership & Wellness Strategy
• Lead and mentor a team of health and disability professionals, including a Wellbeing Specialist, two Disability Management Specialists, and a Disability Coordinator.
• Develop and implement strategic wellness initiatives aligned with organizational goals and employee needs.
• Oversee the design and delivery of comprehensive wellness programs that support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
• Champion innovation by researching and applying best practices in workplace health and wellness.
Disability Management & Attendance Oversight
• Manage all aspects of attendance, disability claims, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
• Use data-driven insights to monitor trends in absenteeism, employee wellbeing, and disability, ensuring continuous program improvement.
• Support organizational knowledge by delivering training and workshops on disability management and wellbeing resources.
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture Integration
• Collaborate with HR and leadership to integrate wellbeing programs into the organization's culture, policies, and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party providers, including insurers, healthcare professionals, and wellness program vendors.
• Foster partnerships and networks that enhance employee support and optimize wellness outcomes.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Post-secondary degree in one of the following fields - Disability Management, Occupational Health, Health Sciences, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Five years of progressive experience in workplace wellness, disability management, or a related HR function, including leadership or supervisory experience.
Certification in Disability Management, Occupational Health, Mental Health First Aid, or related areas would be considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
