As part of the Structural Maintenance department, the Utility Tradesworker is responsible for performing structural maintenance, including general carpentry work, installing and inspecting scaffolding, or installing or repairing piping insulation, removal and re-installation of cladding to support ongoing maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain station reliability.
Key functions include:
• Safely assemble, alter, dismantle, and inspect scaffolding and temporary structures-including platforms, guardrails, and safety features-ensuring stability, structural integrity, and compliance with safety standards.
• Read and interpret plans to select appropriate materials, load/unload components, secure scaffolds to structures, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, communicate clearly with supervisors, and contribute to ongoing safety and process improvements through feedback and documentation.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Provincial Scaffolding Accreditation
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
