JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent of the Regional Director – Budgeting and Financial management position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the Network's planning, budgets and operational results reporting. These duties include budget, the supervision of financial results and the supervision of financial aspects related to strategic initiatives. As director of a team comprised of a manager and several budgeting analysts, the role involves designing, developing and directing the administration of financial management information to provide appropriate guides and roadmaps for decision making process. The incumbent provides management with relevant and timely financial information. This information may include both data on previous periods and forecasts. In addition, the types of revenue, expenses, initiatives and projects, statistics and other comparative analyses are part of these demands. The incumbent ensures follow-up with all levels of management and delivers presentations on performance (financial indicators) in connection with the financial targets set from the business plan and the strategic plan. The incumbent meets expectations by establishing and providing their team with appropriate tools and guidelines. To this end, the incumbent assesses the systems and procedures in place to identify needs for improvement; the incumbent trains their staff and managers to create a culture of effective and efficient budget management; they surround themselves with internal and external partners to support them in their efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of business administration with concentration in accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional designation in accounting (CPA) is preferred.
  • Eight years' experience in the finance sector, specifically in financial accounting and financial management in a medium or large-sized business environment.
  • Experience supervising and managing finance professionals.
  • Proven skill and experience in the development and implementation of best practices.
  • A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Proven ability to provide transformational leadership with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously, understanding of the organization's needs and priorities.
  • Analytical, writing and synthesis skills.
  • Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong coaching skills.
  • Availability to travel within the Network's territory.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work.
  • Good work history (performance and attendance).
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values.
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
