The CAYAC (Children and Youth in Alternate Care) clinic serves as a multiagency, multidisciplinary clinic that provides a medical home for children and youth in care. It addresses the needs of high-risk children and youth with complex medical, developmental, and mental health challenges, many exacerbated by their traumatic histories.
Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the initiative entitled ?Improving Health, Educational Outcomes, Community Connections and Long-Term Stability for Children and Youth Living in Alternate Care by Delivering Trauma-Informed, Wraparound Healthcare.? Working closely with key stakeholders?including within Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services and particularly the CAYAC clinical team?the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project while ensuring alignment with trauma-informed, equity-centered principles. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the project team which will include integrating several key initiatives, including the launch of a Developmental Trauma Program; adaptive care plans for each child; the implementation of an education navigation role to support academic success through proactive collaboration with schools, caregivers, and mental health providers; and the delivery of trauma-informed therapies via a multidisciplinary team that includes speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, recreation therapists, and creative arts therapists.
A central function of the role involves strengthening multi-agency collaboration?bringing together healthcare providers, child welfare professionals, educators, and Indigenous organizations through regular project team meetings.
The Project Manager will also collaborate with academic partners such as Memorial University and the Janeway Pediatric Research Unit (JPRU) to support ongoing research, continuous quality improvement, and data-driven program refinement.
Evaluation and impact measurement will be a critical responsibility, with the Project Manager overseeing tracking of key outcome indicators across educational achievement (e.g., attendance, academic performance, special education supports), health and wellbeing (e.g., emergency healthcare utilization, psychological growth), and social outcomes (e.g., community engagement, stability in placements, family reunification).
Reporting to the Clinical Trials (Research and Innovation) and CAYAC clinical leads, the Project Manager will ensure the project remains responsive to community needs while delivering sustainable improvements in the lives of children and youth in care.

Job Qualifications
A Master's degree in a health-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing is required, along with experience and training in project management and research coordination. Knowledge or training in trauma-informed care and developmental trauma. Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities in communication (oral and written), problem-solving, clinical reasoning, program evaluation, and organizational planning. They must be able to work independently and collaboratively within interprofessional teams, including diverse groups such as individuals with disabilities, children, youth, adults, community organizations, RHA staff, physicians, and government stakeholders. An understanding of community resources, health systems, data collection and reporting, research processes, human ethics in research and quality improvement practices is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate sound professional judgment, and a commitment to evidence-informed practice. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
