JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Clinical Trials Unit Manager, the Research Coordinator – Clinical Trials is responsible for facilitating and coordinating sponsored clinical trials in accordance with timelines and applicable regulations. The incumbent interacts with all research sector departments and with external stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in science, nursing, health sciences or similar discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be accepted;
- Experience related to the coordination and development of research projects or clinical trials;
- Familiarity with research protocols and the research ethics board submission process;
- Experience in administrative support;
- Experience in writing and editing different types of texts (scientific or other);
- Experience in health research in an academic setting, medical research institution, or hospital environment (an asset);
- Experience with computers (MS Office);
- Good understanding of the scientific method and clinical research;
- Knowledge of relevant regulations for research involving humans (e.g., Best Clinical Practice Guidelines, Health Canada, the FDA, and the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans);
- Strong analytical and organizational skills;
- Outstanding communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages;
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team;
- Physical ability to perform assigned tasks;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to the Network's professional ethical principles, management philosophy, and organizational values;
- Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
