JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the incumbent assists in planning, organizing and supervising administrative operations related to laboratory services and replaces the senior manager in their absence to ensure continuity of operations. In this regard, considerable discretion is granted to exercise one's own judgment and take the measures necessary for the proper functioning of the department. The primary place of work is the zone's regional facility, where the incumbent provides day-to-day support for the manager's activities. However, travel to other facilities in the zone is required to support local activities.
In conjunction with the manager or director, this person ensures the quality of services provided to patients in compliance with laws, regulations, standards of practice and excellence, while respecting Vitalité Health Network policies and procedures. In addition, they plan activities based on the priority objectives of the Network's strategic plan, as well as projects linked to the optimization of laboratory services. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for budget management, purchasing products, equipment and supplies, human resources management, managing various projects, risk management and implementing the quality program (in collaboration with the regional quality team). Regular trips to community facilities are also necessary to address needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of a recognized school of medical laboratory technology or hold a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or another discipline related to health administration;
- Any other combination of relevant training and experience deemed equivalent;
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience supervising or managing staff, with a strong aptitude for coaching;
- Minimum of five years' experience in the health care field;
- A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
- Have a good knowledge of computer tools and office software, and be able to use them (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet);
- Strong management skills, including planning, program development and evaluation, conflict resolution, human, financial and material resources management, and problem-solving and analysis;
- Ability to use evidence-based data in decision-making;
- Ability to form productive partnerships, recognize collaborators and motivate teams;
- Commitment, adherence to changes and ability to manage them with a positive attitude;
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to delegate duties and responsibilities;
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks;
- Excellent coaching skills;
