DUTIES
Reporting to the Administrative Staff Specialist Ill, the Academic Program Assistant will perform proactive administrative work in support of the Faculty of Science's undergraduate and graduate programs. Duties include supporting the admissions process, including processing graduate student applications; liaising with the School of Graduate Studies staff regarding regulations, procedures, and enquiries; preparing and processing student forms; completing undergraduate payroll forms; processing graduate student payroll, as well as maintaining necessary files for records; managing graduate student thesis submissions, comprehensive exams, and other related work; completing support work around graduate scholarships; drafting routine correspondence and typing and formatting reports and documents; scheduling meetings related to undergraduate and graduate committees and taking minutes; providing support to Deputy Heads as needed; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) supporting academic program activities; completion of a two-year office or business administration diploma, supplemented by coursework toward an undergraduate degree, is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential for this role. Experience with Banner Student, OnBase, Brightspace, or similar programs is an asset.
SALARY $50,294 - $58,998 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
