Pay Rate

  • Probation Rate (720 hours): $18.47 per hour
  • Regular Rate: $18.77 per hour
  • Good News: Wages are expected to increase within the year-with retroactive pay

What You'll Do

As a Dietary Aide, you'll help ensure our residents enjoy nutritious, high-quality meals in a friendly and home-like setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and preparing meal trays for residents
  • Assisting with special diet preparation and portioning
  • Delivering and retrieving food carts to and from dining areas
  • Clearing trays and tables and maintaining a clean dining environment
  • Operating dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely
  • Preparing vegetables, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and nourishments
  • Stocking supplies, recording temperatures, and maintaining sanitation standards
  • Supporting the Food Services team with other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma (Grade 12)
  • Food Safety Certification (or willingness to complete)
  • Reliable and hardworking with a positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg
  • Criminal Record Check required
  • Previous food service or healthcare experience is an asset
  • Interest in working with older adults is a plus

Work Schedule

Potential shifts include:

  • Early: 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM
  • Late: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Short: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

(Flexibility for weekends and holidays required)

Grand View Manor is a not for profit long term care home known to support our community through our commitment to quality care and innovative support for both clients and staff. In our 142 bed facility, care is provided in an enriched housing, an assisted living, and a nursing home setting.

Located in Berwick, the heart of the Apple Capital of the Annapolis Valley, we are one hour from Halifax and minutes away from the highest tides in the world. Work with us as we plan for our new state of the art facility scheduled to open in 2025.
