MAP Strategic Workforce Services Inc. (MAPSWS) is a provincial, industry-led non-profit organization dedicated to building inclusive, diverse, and welcoming workplaces across New Brunswick's skilled trades sectors. We deliver four key programs: NB-MAP, New Boots: Progressing Women+ in Trades, First in Trades (FIT), and the Skilled Trades Exploration Program (STEP).
We are currently hiring a full-time New Boots Coordinator to join our team, reporting to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and advocate for skilled trades career pathways to girls and women+ throughout the province
- Support the growth of the New Boots network and assist members with employment-related needs such as resume writing, employer connections, and mentorship
- Help develop and deliver outreach activities that encourage women+ to explore skilled trades careers, including hands-on workshops and visits to post-secondary institutions
- Deliver presentations and represent MAPSWS at events such as career fairs, conferences, and community group gatherings
- Assist in creating marketing materials to support awareness and promotional activities
- Contribute to regular content creation and management of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, employers, schools, associations, and New Boots network members
- Assist in planning and delivering MAPSWS events, including marketing and communication efforts
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
- Red Seal or apprentice in a designated skilled trade, or a university degree in Education or Social Sciences (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout New Brunswick, including overnight trips
- Understanding of and/or experience in sectors where women+ are underrepresented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset
