The Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship is seeking a Marketing and Events Coordinator to help drive its mission to help every Memorial University student find and grow their inner entrepreneur. We are a small team focused on big impact in the pursuit to develop and grow the local startup ecosystem. We deliver foundational training, mentorship, funding, co-working space and networking opportunities to any student across the university with an entrepreneurial spirit.

DUTIES

The Marketing and Events Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing creative marketing strategies and delivering engaging in-class presentations to inspire entrepreneurial thinking
  • Coordinating and executing logistics for events, from small speaker series to larger-scale annual pitch competitions
  • Overseeing all event details, including preparing requisitions, ordering food, securing event spaces, managing registrations, coordinating volunteers, and marketing the events to students and the public
  • Developing and managing marketing and communications content across multiple outreach platforms
  • Tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of events and campaigns, making data driven adjustments to strategies as needed
  • Supervising 1-2 work-term or part-time students supporting event logistics and social media
  • Building and maintaining relationships with individuals, community groups, and local organizations

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in marketing and/or event planning; an undergraduate degree in related area is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of creativity and the ability to adapt strategies as needed. Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously are essential for this role, as are excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. The incumbent must be able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment through brainstorming, updates, and open communication.

SALARY $55,865 - $83,793 per annum (Management and Professional)
