Englobe is currently looking for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, Western Canada Region, they are able to work out of either our Calgary or Edmonton office.
Work model: Hybrid, in accordance with Englobe work policy.

Your main responsibilities
Englobe is currently seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor for Western Canada. Working in partnership with operations and corporate risk management, the Senior Health and Safety Advisor is accountable for supporting leadership in driving safety culture, participation, and implementation of the safety management system within the region.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Western Canada and does require travel to regional offices and project sites throughout Western Canada. Travel is estimated to be 30%.
- Influence and support leadership in fostering a progressive, proactive, health and safety culture.
- Support leadership in expanding their level of knowledge, participation, and engagement around safety and that of their teams.
- Build trusted and supportive partnerships with operations project managers and leadership, to support achievement of goals, project safety planning, and implementation of the safety management system.
- Promote continuous improvement related to Englobe's leading indicator program.
- Support and coach project managers and leaders in the development of project safety plans and execution strategies.
- Develop and implement regional safety strategies and initiatives orientated towards continuous improvement of safety culture, knowledge, and performance.
- Maintain COR certification in western Canada.
- Support corporate risk management in the development and implementation of new practices, procedures, and initiatives.
- Perform worksite audits and observations.
- Maintaining databases and reporting for various safety related statistics.
- Interpret provincial legislative requirements and alignment with respect to operations.
- Preparation of communications and presentations regarding health and safety.
- Support office safety representatives and Joint Health and Safety Committees to complete office level safety activities.
- Provide Health and Safety Orientation to new employees.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes, learnings, and corrective actions.
What makes you unique
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an equivalent blend of relevant education and experience.
- CRSP designation or eligibility and pursuit of is considered an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of health and safety experience.
- Construction sector and/or Engineering consulting experience preferred.
- Familiarity and/or experience with Industrial hygiene practices and principles preferred.
- Proven interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, exhibiting diplomacy and tact.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and partnerships with operations leadership.
- Experience administering and managing Certificate of Recognition (COR) programs.
- In depth understanding of H&S principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with experiencing speaking in front of large groups.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure guidance, data management, and reporting is accurate and reliable.
- Strong familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and related standards, affecting the consulting engineering industry.
- Demonstrated autonomy and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to travel to office locations and project sites throughout western Canada. In possession of a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Capability to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to effectively manage incident investigations, reporting, and client communications.
