What you will do

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to fill the position of Operations Worker III in Operations Branch – Supply Depot located in Fredericton.

As an Operations Worker III, you will work under the direction of the Storekeeper II and be responsible for:

• operating a front-end loader and fork-lift to load, unload, and store materials;
• operating a front-end loader to ensure accessible access to the storage yard, parking lot and refueling area during the winter season;
• assisting with inventory controls and the provincial fuel site;
• performing normal maintenance and minor repairs on assigned equipment, preparing, and maintaining work records on the operation of the assigned equipment;
• maintaining building and grounds using hand tools, mowers, trimmers and equipment.

Work environment:

• Work location: Supply Depot, 122 Currie Avenue, Fredericton.
• Work occasionally on holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
• May work in adverse road and weather conditions.

Essential Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 10 and a minimum of three (3) years experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment.
• Valid class 3 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

• experience working in a warehouse or stock room environment.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:

Operation Worker III: $27.12 per hour bi-weekly, based on a 40- hour week.
