The New Brunswick Women's Council is seeking a Governance and Membership Coordinator. This is an opportunity for a seasoned candidate or someone with limited experience who has a strong foundation in the necessary skills along with a growth mindset. We're adding this new position to our existing staff team of four.

Who we are

The Council is an independent advisory body for study and consultation within the Government of New Brunswick. We work on matters of importance, interest, and concern to women and their substantive equality with a focus on provincial-level public policy issues. We provide advice to government and the public that is informed by consultation, research, and intersectional feminist analysis.

The Council is directed by appointed volunteer members. The staff team works across government and with community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates.

Our staff team works from locations across the province. We prioritize creating a workplace that supports our staff's wellbeing while delivering operational excellence.

What you will do

The Governance and Membership Coordinator will work directly with both the staff and members to support the governance of the Council as well as members' participation in the work of the Council more broadly.

Governance work will include the preparation of annual reports; internal compliance reporting and evaluation; internal policy development; planning and preparation of content for Council meetings; developing and managing the content of the Council's members' website; calls for membership and the submission of recommendations for appointments to the Council.

Membership work will include: onboarding and exiting of members; collaborating with the Council's office manager to provide administrative and logistical support to members; supporting members in representing the Council in their communities and sharing information back with the Council; and organizing training and development.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Computer and digital literacy, including being well versed in various office software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams) and capable of recommending, learning, and integrating new programs and platforms as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
  • Experience in project management or process planning and coordination.
  • Experience in member or partnership engagement or collaboration.
  • Familiarity with social movements and social movement organizations.
  • Knowledge of equity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-oppression approaches in processes and projects.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered for each.

Salary:

Pay Band 4 - $57,616.00 to $80,574.00 per annum
