Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a adaptable, skilled, and detail-oriented, individual to join our Addicition and Mental Health as a Business Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in health care and will work closely with managers, staff scheduling team and the Directors Group.

Who you are

You have a worked in a Leadership and/or Management role for a minimum of 3 years and hold a bachelor's degree in business administration or a Health-related field. Experience and application of LEAN Six Sigma tools/training, and/or leadership education based on the LEADS in a caring environment framework would be beneficial. You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications. You have demonstrated leadership and communication skills (oral and written), demonstrated problem solving, change management, conflict resolution and time management skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a change agent. You have the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a variety of health care providers, including nurses, physicians, managers and staff from other disciplines.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

On-boarding of staff (20%)

  • Prepares Itacit requests for new positions and securing staff for vacancies.
  • Organizes the on-boarding of all new staff.
  • Includes form completion, organizing and scheduling of orientations and communication with pertinent stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition team to schedule interviews between potential candidates and the Manager.

Human Resources (40%)

  • Participates in and completes follow up for Attendance Management issues with staff.
  • Participates in Disability Management meetings with staff.
  • Organizes gradual return to work. Completes all related forms and approves schedules.
  • Collaborates with Managers, to develop plans and requirements for a successful return to work on a gradual basis.
  • Collaborates with the Managers on issues related to staffing and processes defined from the Regional Staff Scheduling Center.

Finance (15%)

  • Reviews and reconciles all changes to staff:
    • Levelling
    • Public holidays, vacation, sick days, overtime
    • Verify professional designations annually and maintain attendance records.
  • Reviews Plan of Establishments (POE) for responsible units and reports inconsistencies to Finance and Manager/Director.
  • Analyzes and evaluates budget variances monthly (sick days, overtime, etc.). Reconciles budget variances with the Manager and reports to Director.
  • Identifies budget pressures, in conjunction with the Manager and completes requests for enhancements as required.

Quality and Safety Management (25%)

  • Conducts incident analysis as required.
  • Ensures unit Occupational Health and Safety Inspections.
  • Collaborates with managers and other resources in various audits (hand-washing, records, VDT, etc.).
  • Analyzes and maintains statistics as required by departments.
  • Participates in the development of project charters, as needed, and ensures follow-up with managers.
