Who you are
You have worked in healthcare, hospitality, or food/environmental service management for a minimum of 2 to 5 years. You have experience in managing multidisciplinary support service teams, overseeing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing customer satisfaction in a healthcare or institutional setting. You have an intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
You have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, a high regard for confidentiality, and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and teams.
Education Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition;
OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Food or Hospitality with a Management focus or a recognized specialty in Food Service Management.
• Training or experience in Environmental Services is considered an asset.
Experience Required
• Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive experience in food services or healthcare operations.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, housekeeping equipment, food delivery systems, and infection prevention protocols.
Language Requirements
• Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.
• French language skills are considered an asset.
What you will do
As the Manager, Food Services, Environmental Services, and Patient Support, you will:
Leadership & Human Resources:
- Lead and coach a diverse team of staff and supervisors in food and environmental services.
- Manage staffing levels and performance through recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive workplace and promote Horizon's mission and values.
- Collaborate with union representatives and administer collective agreements fairly and consistently.
Food Services:
- Manage and supervise daily operations of Food Services, ensuring safe food handling, high service standards, and nutritional quality.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets and purchasing.
- Lead initiatives in menu development and service innovation.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation standards and respond to public health inspection findings.
Environmental Services:
- Oversee Environmental Services operations including cleaning, linen distribution, and special projects.
- Monitor quality assurance and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Investigate and implement new procedures, materials, and equipment to improve service delivery.
- Maintain open communication with other departments to address service quality and employee performance.
Communication & Customer Focus:
- Model excellent customer service and foster a customer-focused culture.
- Actively respond to patient and team feedback to improve services.
- Ensure clear communication and collaboration between departments and staff.
