The Department of Health is seeking individuals, to fill current and future, temporary and permanent Project Manager opportunities within the Strategy and Priority Management Branch in Fredericton.
The Project Managers are responsible and accountable for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closing of priority projects.
As a Project Manager you will:
- Lead and support departmental and health system projects;
- Be responsible for project scoping, charter and project plans development, managing issues and risks, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver these projects according to plan;
- Work closely with subject matter experts such as change management specialists, Black Belts, business analysts, senior leaders and project teams;
- Produce projects' progress reports, engage, and communicate with various stakeholder groups;
- Create/track projects' KPIs and monitor benefits realization throughout each project;
- Provide coaching to project teams and leaders involved in each project;
- Make recommendations to project owners on actions required to remove barriers.

Essential Qualifications:
- University degree in Health, Business, Science, Engineering or a related discipline;
- Six (6) years of related experience;
- Experience working in changing and/or project-driven environments, leading and/or supporting projects;
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Project management training or certification
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies, problem solving and change management
- Experience with analytics/KPIs
Subject to the response of this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.
The following operational requirement is also required:
- Travel may be required throughout the province as per project's needs. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license.

Salary: $76,622 to $101,920 per annum (Pay Band 6)
