We are currently looking for an Asset Management Program Engineer within Enterprise Asset Management's Operations Team.
The Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team works to design and deploy processes, tools and strategies to ensure the reliable operation of NS Power's core generating, transmission and distribution assets to enable improved planning and risk-based decision-making, in support of Corporate strategic objectives. As part of this function, the AM Operations team leads continuous improvement and reliability-centered programs including Root Cause Analysis and develops processes and standards to ensure resources across the organization have the information they need to optimize the performance of assets while ensuring safe, compliant design and operation.
Reporting to the Manager, AM Operations, the AM Program Engineer will lead a number of programs and support the EAM and Operations teams through trouble-shooting, process improvement as well as Engineering and process change initiatives. The successful candidate will work with subject matter experts within the EAM and across the organization
Key elements of this role include:
- Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) program, including identification of events requiring an RCA, facilitation of RCAs, compilation of RCA reports, tracking of RCA status, distribution of finalized RCAs, and the oversight of resulting recommendations.
- Administer the suite of Quality Processes (Engineering, maintenance, and process standards) including efforts to keep the documents current, communication, and ensuring alignment with maintenance and operating activities such as Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and Operator Rounds.
Other areas the successful candidate will participate in include:
- Support Asset Management and field-based resources through change management when deploying new or changed tools and processes.
- Support the sustainment and enhancement of AM processes, programs and tools through compliance and exception monitoring.
- Support the documentation, communication and continual improvement of asset management processes and practices to strengthen alignment with ISO 55000.
- Engage in internal asset management system audit efforts, including data collection and shaping of action plans.
- Seek opportunities to continuously improve, make more efficient, use innovative technologies etc. to support risk-based decision making and improve understanding of asset health and risk.
- Participate in relevant EAM and AM Operations team and project meetings as required to execute and scope the work and ensure continued alignment with corporate strategy and integration into existing processes.

- You will be responsible for your personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- You will be responsible to ensure Safety Program requirements are being met in a timely manner, as defined for the AM Operations and Capital Program team.
- You will be accountable for personal/program element performance, as defined in NS Power's Environmental Management System (EMS).

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:
- You have an engineering degree (Mechanical or Industrial Engineer preferred)
- You are a member or are eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial environment.
- You have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- You have experience leading Programs or Projects and have a demonstrated ability to manage many parallel activities and motivate others through initiative completion.
- You have strong communication and facilitation skills, and an ability to build positive relationships with diverse functional groups.
- You are a self-starter, with strong critical thinking and organizational skills. You can work independently while contributing to the success of the team.
- You are familiar with Root Cause Analysis, change management methodology (eg. PROSCI) and/or ISO 55000 Asset Management Systems considered an asset.
- You have experience with heavy industrial equipment and common maintenance technologies and practices considered a benefit.
