We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will become part of a dedicated group of solution-oriented professionals committed to exceeding our customers' expectations by delivering reliable and cost-effective energy and services.
This role can be based out of either our Bridgewater, NS or Coldbrook, NS location.
Key elements of this role include:
- Reviewing overhead and underground customer and capital design and providing support to planners as needed
- Providing technical support for the operation and maintenance of NSPI's systems
- Developing and implementing engineering analysis to ensure the safe and cost-effective provision of electrical service for customers and employees, through consistent analysis and interpretation of NSPI's Rates and Regulations
- Operating the distribution system in accordance with NSPI's engineering practices and Standard Protection Code
- Managing significant customer projects and being available to assist with outage restoration and emergency storm response
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
You will also be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- You have full membership, or are eligible for membership, with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience in electric utility operations and electrical distribution systems and equipment is considered an asset.
- You have excellent communication skills that allow you to interact effectively with technical teams, project stakeholders, and operational staff.
- You have a valid driver's license and are available to support after-hours emergency service restoration when required.
