The Violence Prevention Centre (VPC) is a non-profit organization committed to combating gender-based violence.

Position Title: Executive Director

Job Description:

Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) leads and oversees all operations of the VPC. The ideal candidate will develop strategies to fulfill the CPV's mission and vision and supervise day-to-day operations to ensure process efficiency. The ED manages the budget, monitors financial performance, and ensures economic sustainability. They/he/she is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing staff. The ED ensures compliance with laws and regulations, upholds high standards of governance, and represents the organization to stakeholders. Finally, this role requires a visionary leader who can foster innovation, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement change initiatives.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Hold a post-secondary degree in a related field (business administration, nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or a similar field).
  • Experience in a leadership role within an organization, preferably in a nonprofit, healthcare, or social service organization.
  • Experience in managing staff, budgets, and operations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with degree or 5 years of relevant experience without degree.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of issues related to gender-based violence, intersectionality, and human rights.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems and the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of accounting.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written French.
  • Advanced proficiency in both spoken and written English.

Other:

  • Must be available for meetings outside regular office hours.
  • The primary working language is French.
