The Business Analyst Specialist role intersects business, technology and the user requirements for Canadian Banking's client insight application.

You will work very closely with developers and QA and should at minimum understand the technology stack and its implementation processes at a level that supports sound decision making. This position works closely with various technology and business teams.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Experience leading discovery sessions with multiple Business and Technology stakeholders to elicit and capture business requirements and processes. Including the definition of epics, user stories and user acceptance criteria.
  • Effectively communicate with business functions, analysis, development, and quality assurance teams to align technology solutions with business needs.
  • Have a keen attention to detail to ensure high quality of systems being developed and deployed.
  • Ability to design elegant solutions for highly complex problems that can include changes to Technology as well as changes to existing Business processes.
  • Strong expertise in gap analysis, root cause assessments, business process mapping, process flow diagrams, data mapping and data analysis.
  • Must have business and process analysis expertise, and strong technical background.
  • Hands on experience with SQL scripting.
  • Proficiency with Agile practices such as backlog grooming, Scrum and Kanban based delivery, task definition, story splitting, etc.
  • Support delivery lead in planning, scoping and impact analysis
  • Support the quality assurance team in creating, reviewing and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working experience with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Ability to come into the Scarborough office 4 days per week.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Associate degree or B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent
  • Education / Work experience.
  • Must have at least 8 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience in developing work estimates.
  • Possess a customer focused mindset to provide reliable and timely production support.
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL, DB2.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Batch/ETL processing applications.
  • Experience working with GCP.
  • Experience working with Talend.
  • Experience working with both Agile methodology and Waterfall SDLC.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills, using creativity and attention to detail to develop business requirements and resolve issues.
  • The individual requires good oral and written communication skills.
  • Openness to ideas, willingness to take on any task or role, focus on the customer, and a constant view of the big picture.
