Hours per week: Flexible (around 20 hours)
Placement Duration: September – December 2025
Department: Social Development (SD)
Placement Description: The Child and Youth Well-Being Branch is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring strength-based programs and services to help protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of children and youth. The Branch works in partnership with colleagues within the zone, other departments, and community-based services to ensure timely and culturally responsive services and resources that result in the best outcomes for children and youth. Ultimately, the vision is for safety, wellbeing, a sense of belonging and lifelong connections for children and youth. The successful student will be working with the team to research and provide insights into redesigning group homes to better meet the needs of children who are living in these facilities in New Brunswick. The student will be researching and looking at strategies to address youth homelessness. The student's work could include investigating program options, conducting jurisdictional scans, policy analysis, and evaluation methodologies.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.
Need to have:
- Language requirement: English or Bilingual
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution in a program that has a strong research component
Nice to have: The ideal student should have experience in research and analysis, with a solid understanding of research methods. They are strong communicators, both written and verbal, and bring a collaborative, problem-solving mindset. With excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of youth in New Brunswick, the student will be driven and self-motivated.
