Key Responsibilities- Review medical information on file.
- Evaluate medical workplace accommodation requests
- Conduct telephone interviews with the employee, and if necessary, with the employer and health professionals involved in the file, in order to obtain relevant data for decision-making.
- Conduct all written correspondence with the employee, the employer, health professionals and other organizations such as the RRQ and the CPP when necessary.
- Determine the need for medical assessments or any other type of assessment relevant to the management of the file.
- Interact with the various external parties involved i.e. treating physicians, medical experts, therapists, rehabilitation counselors and others;
- Provide the employee with the necessary support during the reintegration to work, including the determination of the terms of return to work and the necessary accommodations, in partnership with the employer and, if necessary, other stakeholders;
- Work in partnership with management and HR/LR to find solutions when specific situations arise in order to facilitate a suitable reintegration for the parties.
- Follow up on cases already accepted on long-term disability in order to plan the return to work at the appropriate time.
- Participate in conference calls with other company authorities if required by specific situations (litigation, accommodation or others).
- Support/coach the Short Term Disability Managers mandated by the Disability Management Group
- Participate in the development and implementation of processes;
- College or university degree in human resources, health or other relevant discipline;
- Two to five years experience as a Disability Case Manager;
- Excellent judgement and discretion, as well as confidentiality.
- Good customer service skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of clients, including employees, divisional leaders, vice presidents, health care professionals and other team members in a confident, cordial and professional manner
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong teamwork skills;
- Knowledge of SIGMA-RH software (an asset)
- Knowledge of SAP (an asset);
- In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
