The Financial Close Controller team is seeking a highly motivated Associate to be a part of the Controller organization's transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best in class people, processes and innovation.
Support the financial results close process to ensure accurate, complete and timely results through:
- Partner with various business stakeholders to understand the processes generating accounting transactions
- Preparation and review of routine accounting transactions
- Preparation of various internal and external reporting
- Perform validation and reconciliation of General Ledger inputs and balances
- Adherence to internal control and audit requirements
- Participate in special projects as required
- Execution of routine business transactions and processes while maintaining strong governance and controls
- Participate in identifying areas of potential improvements in existing processes and assist in the implementation of changes that lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness of processes
- Support internal and external customers by providing information and explanations to aid in understanding and interpreting transactional process, data and reporting
- Learn and leverage the use of technology in transactional processes to improve quality and efficiency
- Provide analysis and explanations to support financial reporting information
- Reconcile data from Bell provisioning systems, linking back to vendor costing to ensure accuracy of charges
- Partner with business partners to follow up on delivering of managed services to ensure timing reporting of expense and closure of associated PO's
- Proficiency in MS applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Knowledge of English and French without any significant limitation. In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
- A degree or diploma in accounting/finance, business/commerce and/or previous related experience
- Prior experience in a finance / accounting role or similar transaction process role
- Working knowledge of SAP-BI, SAP-FI and associated accounting systems
- Ability to learn and use new technology and tools
- Ability to work in a culture of innovation - interest in upskilling in latest digital and technology trends and open to learning new tools and work methods
- Ability to understand operational business linkages to financial processes
- Attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with internal/external parties and at various levels in the organization
- Strong organizational skills, able to execute on priorities
- Ability to partner and build relationships and engage with cross-functional teams and management levels
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues
- Team player and contribute to a positive work environment
- Monday to Friday, business hours
