Qualifications:
? Graduation from High School or equivalency;
? Successful completion of a Two-year diploma from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program is preferred; OR completion of a one-year health related certificate and willing to complete a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program within a reasonable time frame as determined by the employer;
? Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
? Ability to understand and demonstrate correct body mechanics; ? Knowledge of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy;
? Ability to use computer is an asset or ability and desire to complete study program for same;
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties: (include but not limited to):
? Carries out individual and group program and activities as assigned by a licensed Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist;
? Provides and maintains rehab equipment as required for specific client use under direction of PT/OT;
? Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with work facilities and co-workers;
? Organizes and manages time effectively;
? Works with some independence and self initiative;
? Maneuvers heavy equipment, performs lifts/transfers of physically and/or cognitively impaired clients;
? Assists with treatments and assessments as required;
? Maintains a clean and safe environment;
? Maintains accurate workload measurement statistics for all client and non-client related activities;
? All other related duties.
