The Vehicle Management Agency's mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.

What you will do

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • supervising departmental staff;
  • providing technical advice on Government of New Brunswick (GNB) fleet requirements;
  • managing lifecycle decisions and planning for the GNB fleet, including major repairs and vehicle replacement cycles;
  • managing the vehicle tendering and procurement program;
  • supporting clients with vehicle needs and requests;
  • participating in provincial and regional committees.

Work environment:

  • Office location: 1050 College Road, Fredericton
  • Open office layout.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday.
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment.
  • Some travel within and outside the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A two (2) year post-secondary diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible work experience in a related field, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be a member, or be eligible for membership, in the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:

  • project management experience;
  • procurement experience.

SALARY:

Engineering and Field level VIII: $2,537.00 to $3,190.00 bi-weekly (based on a 36 ¼ hour work week).
