Who we are:

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) division of Finance and Treasury Board has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team. Become part of our dynamic, progressive team of professionals in an environment in which you can learn, grow, and support the creation of innovative strategies to help the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) deliver on its business objectives.

What you will do:

As a key professional in the GNB Cyber Security team, you will:

  • Protect GNB from cyber threats
  • Understand GNB's strategic direction
  • Build GNB cyber strategies, policies and architectures
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments and help manage cyber risks
  • Help mature GNB's cyber security program
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external partners
  • Adapt quickly to new cyber threats and changing business needs
  • Solve problems and deliver results
  • Communicate cyber security topics in a business-friendly way to executives
  • Help executives understand cyber risk
  • Translate technical requirements into business terms for executives
  • Support the GNB Security Operations Centre (SOC)

Need to have:

  • A university degree in Computer Science or Engineering or other related field and a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology including a minimum of two years of experience in cyber security.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Must be eligible for a Canadian Secret Level security clearance.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Formal certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH or equivalent
  • A background in business management
  • Experience and/or training in artificial intelligence including GenAI
  • Experience with cyber security management systems, risk management, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, forensics investigations, threat hunting and intelligence management
  • Experience with server administration (Unix/Windows), cloud computing and virtual environments
  • Experience with formal programming (e.g. C/C++) and scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript)

Wage:

Pay Band 7 - $91,832 – $111,124 annually.
