The Physiotherapist II (PT II) will work in an inter-professional collaborative team environment, to provide person and family-centered care
that is evidence-based, comprehensive and compassionate, with a focus on improving access, optimal health outcomes and quality of life.
The Physiotherapist II is a leadership role responsible for coordination of clinical client care as well as assisting clients and their families to
navigate family care teams and community services. The Physiotherapist II will practice to their full scope in order to meet client needs;
participate in direct care of clients and provide clinical leadership, including:
? Utilizing a collaborative, shared-care approach, works in partnership with clients, families, caregivers, team members and
community partners, to support individuals and communities to achieve optimal health, wellness, functional independence and
physical performance.
? Providing direct client care including comprehensive assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic services; planning, implementation
and evaluation of treatment plans, incorporating the Determinants of Health.
? Health promotion and education for individuals, families, caregivers, collaborative teams community groups, external agencies
with a focus on promoting physical activity and therapeutic exercise,; prevention of injury and functional decline; fostering self-
management for acute and chronic conditions, activity limitations and participation restrictions.
? Facilitation of group sessions to promote wellness, support chronic disease prevention and management and improve quality of
life.
? Facilitation of integrated virtual care options to increase access for individual and group sessions.
? Acting as a liaison with community wellness groups and initiatives to assist in program planning, development, implementation
and support.
? Providing professional and clinical leadership, education, mentorship and support to the inter-professional collaborative team,
physiotherapy support staff, and students/learners.
? Recognizing cultural diversity and practicing culturally safe care.
? Practicing age-friendly care in a collaborative care team setting.
? Work closely with the manager and other team members to:
? Assist in program development,
? Achieve client, community and clinician engagement
? Improve care coordination among team members across the continuum of care, from hospital to community to home, ensuring
coordinated, seamless transitions of care and timely access to improve health outcomes and optimize quality of life.
? Participate in evaluation and continuous quality improvement processes based upon current evidence-based practices.
? Use assessment to assist patients to navigate care pathways by communicating with the team and advocating for the client.
? Engage in continuous education relevant to the position and provide guidance and support to Rehabilitation Assistants, students
and other health professionals in the team.

Required Qualifications:
? Graduation from an approved recognized school of physiotherapy with a Master?s Degree in Physiotherapy
? Current registration & licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists
(NLCP) is required
? A minimum of three years? experience within the last five working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with an adult outpatient population
is preferred.
? Current BLS certification or willingness to complete on hire
? Demonstrated progressive leadership, organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
? Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
? Demonstrated strong collaboration skills and the ability to create and maintain successful working relationships.
? Ability to self-direct and work independently and collaborate with team members
? A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Drivers license, the ability to travel and use of a private vehicle is required.
Additional Qualifications/ Assets:
? Completion of a post entry education courses Orthopedic Level II - Upper and Lower Quadrant treatment an asset
? Proficiency with TELUS Med Access EMR, Meditech , CRMS, and Microsoft Office tools
? Previous experience in adult education
? Knowledge in change leadership and quality improvement methodologies
? Experience in a collaborative team model
? Experience working in and understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of rural health care services delivery
? Understands systemic racism and applies concepts of cultural safety in engaging with First Nations, Inuit and
Metis communities
