Purpose:
The Analyst plays a key role in management of the specialized securities operations for the Settlements requirements of the Scotia Group. This position, responsible for assisting management in their efforts to coach individuals, coordinate workflows, measure and enhance employee engagement as well as the daily evaluation of team performance. The incumbent is expected to actively encourage the use of the daily huddle as a mechanism to create a shared understanding within the team and provide input in the establishment of benchmarks and targets to facilitate operational efficiency and to create a culture of continuous improvement.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Execute settlement activities as directed by the manager by: entering or confirming activity in the various depositories on a "value for value" basis, ensure settlement by determining location of required securities and releasing as required and ensuring settlement activity is accurately captured in books and records
- Perform administrative functions as required including : completing reconciliation activity in a timely and accurate manner, preparing / distributing daily reports AND reconciling cash and securities positions in a timely manner.
- Participate &/or assist in training / cross-training as required by management
- Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of all related settlement systems and all related operational protocol.
- Provide customer service consistent with Scotia Service Standards and Complaint Resolution Procedures.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Knowledge of Securities Settlements
- Must be conversant and have a strong grasp of principles for the operating / settlement systems used by the unit including: BTS (061&191), Impact, Clearance Pro, Escape, Arrow, Arrow Blotters, CDS, DTC and FED.
