The primary purpose of this position is to provide biomedical engineering technology support activities based in Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. The incumbent would report directly to the Regional Biomedical Team Leader under the regional director of physical infrastructure support. This position is for a term of at least 1 full year.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a Biomedical Engineering Technology program from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Specialized training in advanced biomedical equipment would be an asset;
  • Experience/training in servicing Laboratory/Dialysis equipment necessary (or willingness to undergo training as indicated by employer);
  • Registration in CMBES and AAETN would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to):

  • Responsible for providing biomedical engineering technology support services within LG zone;
  • Diagnoses, calibrates, repairs and performs maintenance on all medical equipment to ensure quality assurance standards are met
  • Provides medical equipment technical support and instruction to medical, nursing and other professional staff.
  • Utilizes biomedical equipment database system to maintain records of maintenance repair activities.
  • Inspects and test new medical equipment considered for purchase.
  • Orders repair parts and maintains inventory levels.
  • Writes reports, policies, maintenance and calibration procedures and other documentation regarding equipment maintenance, calibration, performance and downtime.
  • Travel throughout different sites within LG zone as required.
  • Other related duties as required.
