The Financial and Consumer Services Commission (Commission) is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. The Commission's mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services. With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, cooperatives, unclaimed property, and a wide range of consumer legislation. The Commission is a self funded Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of financial consumer services legislation.

Director, Information Technology Services - Information Technology & Regulatory Informatics Division (Fredericton or Saint John office)

Join us in a critical leadership position designed to modernize core systems, strengthen cybersecurity, and ensure the delivery of efficient, business-aligned IT services. As Director of IT, reporting to the CIO, you'll oversee the organization's technology infrastructure-including cloud operations, enterprise applications, deskside support, and information management. You'll lead cross-functional teams, drive digital transformation initiatives, and align IT capabilities with evolving regulatory and organizational priorities. Your Focus
- Cloud Operations & Architecture
Lead the design and optimization of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management
Lead and direct cybersecurity operations, including the development of cybersecurity strategies, and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Application Development & Support
Lead the implementation of DevOps and SaaS solutions, and align technology initiatives with business needs.
- Deskside & End-User Support
Direct IT service management processes and ensure effective asset and software license management.
- Leadership, Training & Coaching
Provide strategic and hands-on technical leadership, guide team development, and manage performance in alignment with organizational goals.
- Information Management & Data Strategy
Oversee and champion information management and analytics initiatives to support enterprise-wide decision-making.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent education
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including cloud, cyber security, DevOps, and application development including:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience with the Azure cloud platform
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Strong writing abilities as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to systematically break down complex or multidimensional problems or processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional IT teams
- Excellent problem-solving, analysis and communication
Additional Strengths
- Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset
