The Role

Reporting to the Municipal Enforcement Superintendent, the Municipal Enforcement Officer is responsible for all aspects of community policing including protecting life and property, preserving peace, preventing violations, enforcing the provisions of the City of Mount Pearl Act and all regulations made with respect to the City of Mount Pearl. In addition, the Officer maintains law and order, supports the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in the detection and investigation of crime and other offences, provides aid and comfort to citizens in emergency situations and serves as a peace officer in a community-based policing environment. This position functions with considerable independence and judgment in completing assigned duties.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a graduate from a training program at a provincially recognized police officer training institution or RCMP training program; supplemented with a minimum of two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable to the City.
