Job SummaryThis is an advanced professional and leadership role in the physiotherapy services of the Adult Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care Program of NLHS. Clinical Assignments include the provision of Physiotherapy Services to patients in multiple service areas including a new Restorative Care Unit focusing on care of older adults with mild to moderate frailty or who have experienced a functional decline as a result of an acute episode or injury. The caseload includes patients referred to Rehabilitation Day Services (Outpatients, Day Hospital), and may also include residents in the Caribou Memorial Veterans' Pavilion (Long Term Care environment).
The Clinical Physiotherapist II is responsible for assisting with the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation and coordination of Physiotherapy services of the Program. The successful applicant will function as part of an Interdisciplinary Health Care Team and will work closely with the Physiotherapist III for caseload and service planning. The Clinical Physiotherapist II consults and advises in the area of clinical expertise, and leads the orientation, mentoring and evaluation of staff in the practice area. Supervision and delegation to Rehabilitation Assistants is an expectation. Home visits may be required.
The Clinical Physiotherapist II will be responsible to precept physiotherapy students and offer other clinical education experiences to students within the facility and the zone. This position reports to the Division Manager of the Rehabilitation Day Services Division and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Physiotherapy for professional integrity and practice issues.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Physiotherapy is required.
Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists (NLCP) is required.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience within the last five (5) working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with adult clients is required.
Successful completion of a post entry education course in Orthopedic Level I (or equivalent as determined by NL Health Services) is required.
Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in both a one-on-one and/or group environment.
Effectively translated and communicated knowledge in the specialized area of physiotherapy practice to others.
Possessed proven leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, coaching, mentorship and training to physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers and students.
Ability to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
