Network Solutions and Security Architect

As a collaborative member of the Network Solutions and Security Architecture group, the Architect is responsible for developing solutions that satisfy business and operational requirements related to connectivity and security. This also includes communicating requirements to other teams for infrastructure, network connectivity and security policies. Most of the work is project driven work and very technical. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal, stable, secure deployment and operations of the organizations key systems.
The successful candidate will work with many business groups (Carrier Networks, Security, Mobility, etc.) in support of their varied requirements. The architect will be prime on creating all design documentation and creating detailed 'build tickets' for the various teams to complete.

Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience working as a network administrator with Cisco, Juniper, or both (preferred) is considered an asset.
- Extensive experience working with network security, including firewall administration experience with Juniper, Palo Alto Networks (preferred) is considered an asset.
- Experience working with network design and architecture at large scales.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong ability to deep-dive with various teams and skill sets and determine full project scope, extract all requirements and associated dependencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to produce solution options and highlight the pros/cons of various approaches.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office, Visio, and SSH access applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Networking and Security.
- IP addressing (subnets, supernets).
- Layer 2 switching (802.1q, VLANs, trunking, lag, spanning-tree, etc.)
- Layer 2 switched data center Ethernet fabrics like Virtual Chassis, and Multi Chassis LAG.
- Layer 3 routing (OSPF, BGP, and static routing). Experience with ISIS is an asset.
- Layer 3 routed underlay/overlay data center fabrics like VXLAN/EVPN.
- Security Technologies (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, PKI).
- Security architecture concepts, including Zones, 3-Tier, Zero Trust, North-South / East-West traffic flows, perimeter and interior firewalling.
Working knowledge of the following items are considered assets:
- MPLS (mBGP, LDP, SR, VRF).
- VMware environment.
- VMware NSX firewall.
- Windows, and *nix OSs.
- Containers.
- IT automation and management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, PowerShell, Orchestration.
- Juniper Apstra, HP NNM (Openview), Splunk, Arbor, SIEM.
- Information security concepts: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
