Your Contribution
The Senior Accountant is responsible for keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control. This role reports to the Senior Director, Tanknology with a dotted line to the Specialty Services Finance Lead.
  • Overseeing the approval and processing of revenue, expenditures, department budgets, payroll activities, ledger, and account maintenance as well as data entry;
  • Coordinating the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports;
  • Maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards;
  • Interacting with managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations;
  • Analyzing cost controls, and expenses to guide business Analyzing financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas;
  • Assessing organizational performance against the annual budget;
  • Assisting in establishing yearly objectives;
  • Overseeing budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally;
  • Ensuring record systems are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Performing other responsibilities as necessary.

Your Profile
  • University Degree in Finance or Accounting required;
  • Five (5) years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position;
  • Professional accounting designation (e.g. CA, CPA, CMA, ) is preferred;
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Knowledge and Advanced proficiency with automated financial and accounting reporting systems;
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations;
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite;
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements;
  • Experience creating and managing budgets;
  • Bilingualism, an asset.

Qualifications:
