Your Contribution

Your main responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct and supervise geotechnical field inspections including drilling and test pit programs;
  • Conduct foundation investigations and complete basic shallow and deep foundation design;
  • Select material samples for geotechnical laboratory testing;
  • Support the materials testing manager;
  • Enter and report field testing results;
  • Support experienced geotechnical engineering staff as required;
  • Prepare borehole logs and write factual reports;
  • Liaise with subcontractors, clients and project managers;
  • Attend site and office meetings;
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety policies.

Your Profile

What makes you unique

  • University Degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering;
  • All applicants are considered and all experience is considered; relevant experience in geotechnical/materials engineering capacity is preferred;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) or eligible to apply once sufficient experience is obtained;
  • Solid experience with field/laboratory tests (consolidation, triaxial, permeability, etc.), and technical reports for geotechnical purposes;
  • Drafting skills in AutoCAD or MicroStation would be considered an asset;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills;
  • Motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and able to complete work within established timeframes;
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel throughout Ontario on an as required basis;
  • Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
