As a division of Englobe, McIntosh•Lalani Engineering Ltd. brings more than 20 years experience in geotechnical engineering and materials testing in the Calgary area.
Englobe is pleased to offer a career opportunity to an ambitious Geotechnical Engineer who enjoys managing a variety of projects from multiple sectors and a diverse client base in a growing team environment.
Reporting to the Geotechnical Team Lead, your main tasks will be to work on projects supplying geotechnical exploratory, design, forensic, laboratory testing, construction management and inspection/testing services to Energy, Institutional, Transportation, Industrial, Commercial, Communication, and Residential clients.
Your Contribution
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
  • Manage multiple geotechnical and geo-materials projects, including client and contractor management, geotechnical evaluation and problem solving, report preparation and review, and preparation of proposals and invoices;
  • Schedule and manage project staff, laboratory and field testing;
  • Conduct geotechnical assessment utilizing computer aided design and analysis software;
  • Conduct site visits and investigations to evaluate difficult conditions and assist field staff;
  • Use keen and detailed analytical skills to carry out Geotechnical investigative assignments; and
  • Assist in managing, training, and mentoring technical personnel and more junior professional staff.

Your Profile
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university;
  • Member of, or eligible for registration with, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA);
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical and/or geo-materials engineering;
  • Local project experience in both soil and rock conditions;
  • Experience in project management will be considered an asset;
  • Experience in global stability assessment and retaining wall design and use of associated modelling software (e.g. Geostudio suite,Settle3D, Autocad , Rocscience, etc.) will be considered an asset;
  • Strong communication skills; and
  • Motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment.
