Residential Support Worker:

We are seeking Casual workers to join our team at Louis House. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic individual who supports our vision of inclusion, independence, and acceptance of persons with varying abilities. All Arden staff will work shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will be 8 and 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities:

The Residential Support Worker role is responsible for a range of supports working directly with clients which include, but is not limited to:

• Will assists clients in increasing daily living skills through implementing positive program plans
• Incorporate MANDT/NVCI techniques to assist with challenging behaviour of clients which may include assisting with crisis control
• Contributes to the daily operation of the program by adhering to Arden's policies and procedures and unit routines
• Document pertinent data in a clear, concise manner consistent with Arden standards
• Maintain and promote good working relationships within the organization as a whole and with outside contacts
• Complies with and collaborates with continual Quality Improvement initiatives
• As part of an interdisciplinary team, participates in the development and implementation of clients' individual program plans
• Participates in Professional Development opportunities and in-service educational programs based on continued learning needs
• Must be committed to influencing change and enabling innovation and creativity

Qualifications:

1. Education in Social Services, Human Services, Residential Care Worker and/or at least 2+ years' experience in a similar field working with persons who have intellectual disabilities and behavioural challenges
2. Required to provide Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
3. Required to provide a Drivers Abstract
4. Required to have a working vehicle while on shift
5. 2 Million dollars auto insurance
6. Must have the 7 core competencies or take training immediately upon hiring that we will provide assistance with obtaining:

• First Aid
• MANDT/ CPI
• Health and Personal Care
• Medication Awareness
• Positive Behavior Support
• Person Centered Planning
• Fire Safety

Salary: $24.33/hr
