GEMTEC currently has an opening for a Senior Hydrogeologist in our Moncton office location. The successful candidate will have significant experience reviewing, managing and completing hydrogeological investigations in support of aggregate resource development, infrastructure and land development, including investigation design, advanced data analysis, impact assessment and numerical modelling.
- Participate in GEMTECs business objectives and contribute to the growth of our civil and environmental engineering teams;
- Provide oversight and technical support for field investigations including: drilling, test pitting, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, etc.;
- Provide senior technical review of junior and intermediate engineer/scientist reports pertaining to hydrogeological assessments for land development and infrastructure projects including, construction dewatering, water supply and water balance assessments;
- Consult with municipal, provincial and federal governments to determine submission requirements for permitting and approvals;
- Assist with detailed design and specification document preparation for engineering projects;
- Advanced groundwater flow and transport modelling experience would be considered an asset; and
- Participate in other office and project management responsibilities such as data management, analysis and interpretation, report and proposal preparation, report review, public consultation and presentations.
- Completion of a relevant university degree in engineering, environmental science or geology;
- Certification as either a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in New Brunswick or Atlantic Canada;
- Possess approximately 10-12 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting;
- Thorough understanding of Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks regulations;
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment where teamwork and collaboration are paramount;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an unwavering commitment to quality; and
- Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate technical staff.
