The duties of a Transportation Engineer are to develop plans for transportation projects in accordance with MPE's established quality and regional engineering standards. This candidate will prepare designs and estimates for transportation infrastructures, plan modifications to existing streets, and highways to improve traffic flow.
Your Contribution
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, or specifications.
  • Participate in contract bidding, negotiation, or administration.
  • Evaluate construction project materials for compliance with environmental standards.
  • Supports project design, cost estimation and delivery of public and private infrastructure projects such as highways, active transportation facilities, transit infrastructure, railway crossings.
  • Investigates traffic problems and recommend methods to improve traffic flow or safety.
  • Develops scope of work, reviews proposals and selects consultants, oversees, and approves consultant work
  • Procures and directs subconsultants to deliver quality, timeliness, cost, and completion of required tasks

Your Profile
  • Over 5 years' experience in Transportation Engineering or related Municipal Engineering
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, strong work ethic and natural enthusiasm
