Your Contribution
As a Senior Pavement Engineer, you will work in collaboration with the Pavement Team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Develop, plan, organize, and carry out pavement evaluations and investigations, and geotechnical investigations for municipal roadway/infrastructure projects;
  • Provide technical supervision of field inspection and testing staff at construction sites and in the office;
  • Experience preparing, reviewing/approving pavement design and pavement evaluation reports and practical knowledge of pavement management, engineering and condition assessments including analysis of FWD, smoothness and friction data;
  • Perform senior review of detailed engineering analysis, design and reporting for assigned projects;
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings; prepare proposals, make presentations and participate in business development initiatives

Your Profile
  • University Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);
  • As the successful candidate, you are highly motivated
  • Minimum 10 years of work-related experience, including pavement engineering, geotechnical engineering, pavement management and construction and condition assessment of pavements (IRI, Distress, FWD, etc.);
  • Extensive knowledge of pavement construction methods, materials and specifications;
  • Demonstrated competence in structural design of highway, airport and municipal pavements using current pavement design methods and software (AASHTO 93, KenPAVE, PavementME, Alizé, Chaussée 2, WinJulea, Shell Bizar, MnPAVE, etc);
  • Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of shallow foundations and on-site review of construction activities (asset) and resolve technical issues;
  • Familiarity of engineering practices and North American based knowledge and experience in a consulting environment; is essential with a proven ability to obtain business from clients;
  • Proven success in managing and executing project engineering investigations and research, conducting evaluations and analytical work and adhering to project budgets and objectives;
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles and personnel management is a definite asset;
  • Familiarity with flexible and rigid pavements and/or Pavement Management Systems concepts is essential;
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, forward-thinking individual possessing strong interpersonal abilities.
