Registered Nurse Supervisor - Part Time

The RN Supervisor is expected to:

  • Consistently practice safe, compassionate, competent and ethical care throughout the continuum of health and illness of the residents
  • To provide supervision to LPNs and CCAs
  • Administer direct nursing care and plan Resident care in consultation from the multidisciplinary team
  • Act in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies of Roseway Manor
  • Follow Nova Scotia College of Nursing standards of practice and code of ethics

Responsibilities

  • Ability to supervise - More than 20 people, staff in various areas on responsibility
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities - Work under pressure, attention to detail, bending, kneeling, crouching, fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, sitting, large workload, physically demanding, manual dexterity
  • Personal Suitability - Judgement, client focus, organized, initiative, team player,excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate, effective interpersonal skills, reliability
  •  Specific Skills - Monitor, asses, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment, asses patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff, dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, collaborate to plan, implement co-ordinate and evaluate patient care

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by Provincial Authorities
  • Must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia or be eligible to register
  • Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting considered an asset
