One of our food processing clients is looking for a Maintenance Planner for their plant in Edmonton, AB for their facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for all production equipment and facilities.

  • Create and maintain detailed schedules for preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.

  • Utilize data and feedback from maintenance reports and inspections to identify equipment performance issues and recommend proactive measures to address them.

  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory control teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts and necessary supplies for maintenance activities, while optimizing inventory levels to minimize costs.

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs, to facilitate tracking of equipment performance and compliance requirements.

  • Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on proper maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and address equipment-related issues impacting production efficiency and product quality.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the maintenance function, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within the food manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and scheduling software.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and reliability-centered maintenance principles is desirable.

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential risks.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs in a fast-paced production environment.
