This is a Hybrid Role:

Estimated 40% Audit, reviews, NTR & compilation engagements and 60% T1, T2, T3 and other
tax compliance
You will assume a high degree of responsibility within the firm by engaging with clients and
colleagues to complete assigned tasks on a timely basis
COMPILATION ENGAGEMENTS – you will be responsible for independently preparing an
engagement file, financial statements, corporate tax return and identifying any relevant tax
planning opportunities
AUDIT & REVIEW ENGAGEMENTS – you will be responsible for risk assessment, planning and
preparation of assurance engagement files from start to finish including key areas, significant
risks and more complex accounting issues while working closely with clients and the
engagement team
TAX ENGAGEMENTS - you will be responsible for other tax compliance including preparation of
personal tax returns, trust returns, partnership returns, HST returns, preparing and submitting
adjustments/amendments and identifying tax planning opportunities
You will be responsible for assisting/mentoring more junior staff members

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, hard-working individual who is passionate about what they do. Additional qualifications include:

• 4-5 years of solid work experience;
• Pursuing CPA designation; strong interest in taxation;
• Skilled in communication (verbal and written), organization skills, client service, questioning and listening, time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills;
• Candidate must be comfortable in a technology dependent environment including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Caseware and Tax Prep. Proficiency with Simply Accounting, and QuickBooks is an asset.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills;
• Work well within an environment that values teamwork but can also work independently.
