Activate is a technology company known for creating Canada's first full-scale interactive gaming experience. We are looking to expand our Project Installations team with the addition of an Installation Team Lead. Reporting to the Installation Leader, this position will travel to help support our expansion nationwide and will work on a rotational basis, with rotations varying depending on the location worked. The primary tasks include overseeing employees, setting up facility equipment, assisting with new facility builds and installations, ensuring that facilities are running at optimal levels, installing retrofits, facility maintenance, providing production support, and other tasks and duties as assigned. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
Hardware Installation and Configuration
- Aid in the installation of new facilities, including traveling on-site
- Installation of game components such as panels, floor tiles, and sensors
- Crimp wires, such as CAT5
- Install hardware such as computers, devices, racks, circuit boards, and others
- Ensure accompanying documentation is completed up to standards
- Use various hand and power tools to complete projects
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Quality Assurance
- Ensure the site is kept to an acceptable standard of cleanliness and organization
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during installation
- Test to ensure installed components are functional
- Troubleshoot issues that arise immediately after installation
Leadership
- Lead with knowledge, maintaining a key focus on facility success
- Train new employees/set up an effective training process for new employees
- Oversee staff and delegate tasks; supporting them throughout the scheduled shift
- Facilitate solution minded processes for on-site staff questions and issues
- Ensure safety procedures are upheld
- Fill out all required documentation, such as checklists
- Foster communication between employees and senior management to ensure staff are aware of, and updated on schedule/changes
- Ensure employees have required materials and equipment
- Arrange travel and accommodations for installation teams in accordance with travel policies
The Qualifications:
- Ability to travel internationally and ability to work in Canada and the United States
- Electronics Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in hardware troubleshooting
- Demonstrated proficiency in recognizing software and hardware issues
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organized in managing competing priorities
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. consistently
- Must be able to stand and lift consistently for up to 8 hours
