Activate is a technology company known for creating Canada's first full-scale interactive gaming experience. We are looking to expand our Project Installation team with the addition of an Installation Leader. This role has primary tasks to lead the installation teams, oversee new facility installations and retrofits, and travel to support our international expansion. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Duties and Responsibilities:

People Leadership

  • Lead the recruitment process for product and electronics installers
  • Responsible for training and development of new and current employees
  • Manage performance of employees, including coaching informally and formally
  • Oversee day to day operations including interpreting and communicating company expectations; must be flexible and available to address issues that may arise
  • Confirm and approve timesheets and time off requests; field employee questions related to payroll
  • Ensure installation teams are supplied with materials, equipment, and travel arrangements

Project Coordination

  • Ensure installation team leads have the required materials and are prepared for installs
  • Complete daily check ins with installation team leads to provide remote support and guidance
  • Responsible for ensuring leadership and other departments are informed on project status, delays, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams to coordinate retrofits and upgrades
  • Provide other departments with feedback on installation challenges to improve workflows
  • Track installation data for business analysis

International Partner Installations

  • Give guidance to international installation teams and share insights to promote success
  • Assist with partner installation training and understanding the Activate system
  • Track installation data for business analysis
  • Understand project status and manage internal coordination

Operations

  • Arrange travel and accommodations for installation teams in accordance with travel policies
  • Prepare and submit expense reports to accounting
  • Confirm and approve timesheets and time off requests; field employee questions related to payroll

The Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel internationally and ability to work in Canada and the United States; a minimum of 35 weeks per year
  • Electronics Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hardware troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in recognizing software and hardware issues
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized in managing competing priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office and related software
