Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Involvement with work related to engagement assignments, including review, and compilation, in addition to personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Review of working paper files, financial statements and tax returns prepared by other staff.
  • Preparation and completion of complex working paper files, financial statements and tax returns for compilation, review, and audit engagements according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses.
  • Assisting clients with compliance filings and responding to queries related to filings with CRA and applications for support under new government programs.
  • Assist clients with day-to-day queries regarding a number of business issues.
  • Assisting in the training of junior staff.

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • CPA designation is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years post-designation experience in public accounting
  • Working experience with public accounting software such as Caseware, Taxprep.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of required government taxes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
