Millards is currently seeking an ambitious Senior Accountant with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-designation public accounting experience to join our Assurance team. Local travel will require access to a vehicle for travel to clients.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage audit and review engagements for private, not for profit and public sector clients.
  • Lead field engagement teams, including coaching, mentoring and training junior team members.
  • Review of working paper files, financial statements and tax returns prepared by other staff.
  • Establish and cultivate positive working relationships with clients, and promptly address their requests.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with team members regarding progress updates and issues.

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.
  • 5 years of relevant assurance experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with:
  • Canadian Auditing Standards
  • Review engagements
  • Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises
  • Accounting Standards for Not for Profit Organizations
  • Public Sector Accounting Standards
  • Working experience with software such as Caseware and Taxprep.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
